Understanding spectator sustainable transportation intentions in international sport tourism events

It is vital to study spectator responses environmental campaigns advance sustainability initiatives. Therefore, this investigation aimed identify which factors influence sustainable transport intentions and perform a segmentation based on their responses. Data were collected from 355 spectators at an international surfing event hosted in renowned destination. The data analysed two stages. First, through the sport campaign evaluation model infer intentions. Second, non-hierarchical cluster analysis, segment sample those results added direct relationship between points of attachment Furthermore, highlighted effect constraints, past behaviours as predictors In addition, differences needs (i.e., aesthetic), community, lack time, access found within three clusters. Organisers tourism events should develop promoting destination’s aesthetic features, strengthening connection local community spectators, improving availability information services increase commitment more modes transport.
